In honor of National and International Dog Biscuit Day on the 23rd, we thought it would be fun to provide some recipes your dogs might enjoy.

Salmon Treats

  • ½ cup cooked wild caught salmon (if canned, drain it)
  • ¾ cup coconut flour (thought that dogs process this flour better)
  • ¼ cup coconut oil (heat to a liquid if solid)
  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree (optional but may need to add more oil if not used)
  • 2 eggs (free-range/organic are a great choice)

Liver Treats

  • ½ cup beef liver (could use chicken but keep in mind it’s a hot meat in traditional Chinese medicine and can make inflammation issues worse; beef is neutral)
  • 1 ½ cup coconut flour (thought that dogs process this flour better)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (heat to a liquid if solid; increase oil if needed)
  • 1 egg (free-range/organic is a great choice)

Directions are the same for both recipes:

  • Tweak recipes as needed.  You can get creative, too, and add additional ingredients.
  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Put everything into a blender or food processor.
  • Create shape you want or you can use a fun dog-shaped cookie cutter like a bone.
  • Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  • Cook for 18-20 minutes.
  • Refrigerate.

Cats may enjoy the treats, too.

Consider a personalized dog bone cookie cutter for your beloved dog.

For that baking lover, you might be interested in an organic dog biscuit cookbook.

‘Bone’ appetit!

Dog Biscuit Blessings!
